Working with Jocelyn as my doula was such a blessing. From the very beginning, her values were evident in the way that she cared for me, with compassion, patience, and a deep sense of purpose that truly aligned with my own faith and needs. She always brought a calm and reassuring presence into every interaction. I always felt supported, not just physically but emotionally and spiritually as well. Jocelyn’s love and passion for childbirth, childcare, and supporting women shone through in everything she did. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, she is also attentive and genuinely invested in the well-being of the families she serves. I’m so thankful and grateful to have had her by my side during such an important time in my life. I truly believe that without her my experience giving birth would have felt impossible. However, with Jocelyn there every step of the way felt easier and empowering. I believe there is no one who is more suitable than her.

She was amazing and helped me every step of the way. She helped me with exercises, massages, comforting words, and lots of affection.

Jocelyn was essential in making the birth as painless and humane as possible. She was incredible with me from the beginning to the postpartum period. I don’t speak very good English, but that wasn’t a problem for either of us; she’s perfect at what she does. I can’t thank her enough.

Fearfully & Wonderfully Made Book Review

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made is an honest story of how one mom reclaimed the realm of birth and parenting. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll learn how to have a happier and healthier outlook on the natural process that is birth and childrearing. Jocelyn’s story encouraged me after my own traumatic birth and with some of her ideas, I went on to have an amazing second birth. It’s worth the read!

Fearfully & Wonderfully Made Book Review

I love this book. Jocelyn writes honestly about her experience & as a mother & grandmother, I learned a lot. I highly recommend this book.

Hi, I’m Jocelyn.

Founder of Peace Of Motherhood. However, I am also a few other things.

Christian

I am a follower of Christ. One thing I believe about God is that He made a perfect design for birth, breastfeeding, and babies. I began my journey of rethinking everything I believed about motherhood when I cried every night from sleep deprivation, I followed all the guidelines and I still struggled to breastfeed, I did everything the way the culture told me and I still fell short of the unrealistic societal expectations. I’d never been a mother before, but I knew in my heart, God wouldn’t make it like this. I’m happy to share with new expectant mothers that motherhood is incredibly peaceful when you follow His design!

Doula

During our sessions together I share God’s imperative design for birth and breastfeeding. I teach you how to aid and protect the hormonal and instinctual processes God created. I also aim to enhance the narrative you have about yourself and your body and provide you with the resources and tools to advocate for yourself.

Wife + Mom

I married the love of my life in 2019 after 7 years together! We had always dreamed of the family we could create and now we get to live that dream! Parenting is the hardest challenge a couple will ever face. But if done with consistent love, patience, and willingness to communicate, it is the most rewarding and fulfilling experience. Follow along my blogs on parenting to know how we stay connected through the tough times.

Studying for IBCLC exam

Ongoing – Estimated completion December 2026

“If breastfeeding is natural, then why is it so hard?”

A reoccurring question I used to ask myself. I discovered that it is routine interferences and societal expectations that make breastfeeding arduous, not a broken body. I want to become an IBCLC to help women aid and protect the natural and instinctive process of breastfeeding giving them the best chances of reaching their goals!

Trauma To Triumph

Read a little bit about Jocelyn’s story to learn how she overcame a difficult labour and turned it into an empowering and beautiful experience with her second.

My Mission

Birth & breastfeeding is natural and intended to be peaceful. Traumatic births are not normal. Pain and depleting supplies while breastfeeding are not inevitable. They occur when we do not follow our biology. Parenting is symbiotic when our expectations are compatible with our child’s development. Babies and children have a natural, built-in mechanism to communicate what they need. All you need to do is listen.

Birth

I used to believe that birth hurts and there’s nothing I can do about it. After reading Genesis 3:14, 16, & 17, I realized God never curses man nor woman; he only curses the serpent and the ground. Now I believe a peaceful birth is not only possible, but how it’s meant to be.

Breastfeeding

I always believed breastfeeding is mechanical. I never knew my baby’s willingness to latch could be impacted by the level of connection we have, not just by the position she was in.

Postpartum

I heard sleep deprivation, passing the baby around, + following sleep + eating schedules was an inevitable part of motherhood, so I never questioned it as I was suffering. I didn’t know responding to my baby’s natural instincts to need me was building a healthy brain, not spoiling them.

Parenting

I thought strict, firm, rule-making was the key to obedience, when in reality I was just being cold. I didn’t know how love & connection – not fear – could be the greatest source of obedience.
